Buenos Dias Amigos!

Post from May 21, 2013-
Buenos dias! Como estas? I have been in Honduras for almost two weeks now. I am very sorry for the delay on writing. I just haven’t had the time to sit down and think about all that has gone on. Tonight I was looking through pictures on my computer. All I could think about was how blessed I am and honored I am to do what the Lord has called me to do. I was thinking back to when I was little I didn’t like to go to the missions portion of VBS or camp because I thought it was boring and I just wasn’t ever engaged in it. Look at me now. I can’t get enough of missions. WOW! God really can change our hearts and desires. He has given me the desire and love for the very thing that I didn’t love or have when I was little. I am in awe of God and his awesome power to change my hearts desires. This is a small glimpse at what the Lord has really been teaching me and showing me this week. Oh how awesome is the God who has saved me and has given me the pleasure to serve Him.
So I guess I can fill you all in about my past two weeks here. I traveled here on May 9. It was my 21st birthday. It was very special day. I arrived in Tegucigalpa about 11:30am and went straight through customs without any problems. I got to baggage claim and had to wait a while and had a minor mishap with my bag. I was trying to load my suitcase through the bag scanner as you leave baggage and customs area and this older man decided he wanted to help the process move faster because he was getting inpatient and he broke my handle on my suitcase. I was embarrassed and of course he didn’t speak English to say sorry or anything. I finally found Kelly and we headed out to get lunch and head to the home. The Ethridge family and Mrs. Effie flew in the same time as me. They were here for a week. They are a sweet family and Mrs. Effie was a sweet lady who happens to be in her upper 80s. Yes, she is probably in better shape than half of you reading this. She is superwoman. They helped Pastor Abner and Alisson move into their new home up by the church and Mrs. Effie help Kirsy with the physicals of the kids. My first night back Alisson had a special surprise for my birthday! She made Alabama cupcakes and a pizza! She was so thoughtful and sweet! I definitely felt loved my first night back. The first week I got acclimated with the routine of things and what I would be doing. I have been working with me Mrs. Karol with the library. I have also been working with each casita on their homework and schoolwork. It has been a very successful first two weeks. The Lord is showing me so much spiritually and educationally. I am so thankful for this time that I have been given to come back to Honduras and educate these kids and love on these kids and show them Christ.
Thank you all to the ones who have been following my journey and loving on me through prayers. You all mean the world to me. God has used each of you in my life for a specific purpose and reason. I pray the Lord would bless each of you. Te amo! Hasta Luego!

Adios Estados Unidos

It's finally here. I can't believe I am going back to Honduras. I am sitting here by my gate waiting to board my plane and I am just in awe of my heavenly Father. He is more than good. He is more than words will ever be able to describe. I am so thankful for his provision and love and care over the past 21 years of my life.
Today is the BIG day. Today is not only the day I return to Honduras and hug my sweet babies, but I also turning 21 years old. Its unreal to me that I am actually going back to Honduras and to make it even better I get to go on my birthday. I couldn't imagine a better birthday present.
I would like to say thank you to all of you who have supported me by financial help, prayers, or encouragement. You all mean the world to me and I am so grateful for each one of y'all. I will try and keep my blog updated on my time in Honduras. I will also try and update on facebook. Please keep praying for my ministry as I help teach and tutor the children. It's not about me or what I can do for those children, but its about what the Lord can do through me for those children. Thank you again for everything. I love you all dearly. Adios amigos!
