"God is So"

“GOD IS SO. “ This is a phrase that Dan Burton told our college ministry last fall retreat. There are no words that will describe how truly amazing our God is. I am in awe of God. As I sit here on this Sunday afternoon I am in complete awe. God has transformed someone so close and dear to my heart and I can’t help but just cry tears of joy. God has breathed his breathe on a very special person. He has changed them from the inside out. God has given them life!

This weekend I worked the D-Now for FBC Tuscaloosa. It was not an easy weekend, but it was still a pleasure and fun learning experience. I came home today really thinking how amazing God is. I was so refreshed after a beautiful morning of Worship lead by Bethany Philips Band and an amazing time of bible study with my amazing leadership team. Today was amazing in the house of the Lord. I came home expecting to take a nap or studying for a math test that I have tomorrow, but instead I have been glued to my computer screen. My friend Bailey just got back from the Good Shepherd Children’s Home in Honduras. She was there for a week with her church. I have been flipping through her pictures. I have tears streaming down my face. I am just in awe of my God. I wasn’t even a part of the trip and I haven’t even heard full stories of their week and I am already in awe of God and what he did at the home this past week. Never, in my life have I felt the Holy Spirit through a simple picture. GOD IS SO.

A few of these pictures captured a certain person and the way their life has completely changed in the last 7 months. I am in COMPLETE AMAZEMENT! Being raised in church my whole life I have always heard the phrase “God can change anyone. He can restore anyone’s life”. I always heard the statement, but have never fully believed it because I have never fully witnessed it. But I can now say I FULLY believe it and I have FULLY seen it!! God has taken this person’s life and shaken it to the core. He has broken their heart for God-Almighty’s heart. God has restored every broken piece in their life. GOD HAS PERFORMED A MIRACLE. I mean that in an honest way. I look back to June and I remember saying “it is going to take a complete miracle to change their lifestyle”. I had the doubt that most humans have. But even though I had doubt I prayed. I prayed God would give me the belief that I need to have. I prayed for a miracle in their life. I prayed for God to restore, rejuvenate, and repair their life. I wanted them to be joyful and have the faith in God like I have. I wanted them to be able to enjoy life. My friends, GOD HAS PERFORMED THE MIRACLE I PRAYED FOR FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS! GOD IS SO.

This song “Beneath the Waters” by Hillsong Live is a song I can’t get out of my mind. This is the perfect song for what God has done in this person’s life. I would like you to please join me in continuing to pray for this very special person. It is a long road ahead, but GOD IS AT WORK MY FRIENDS! “GOD IS SO”

This is my revelation
 Christ Jesus crucified
 Salvation through repentance
At the cross on which He died

Now hear my absolution
 Forgiveness for my sin
And I sink beneath the waters
 That Christ was buried in

I will rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
 I live

I stand a new creation
 Baptized in blood and fire
 No fear of condemnation
 By faith I'm justified

I will rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
 I live

I rise as You are risen
 Declare Your rule and reign
 My life confess Your Lordship
 And glorify Your Name
 Your Word it stands eternal
 Your Kingdom knows no end
 Your praise goes on forever
 An on and on again

No power can stand against You
 No curse assault Your throne
No one can steal Your glory
 For it is Yours alone
I stand to sing Your praises
 I stand to testify
For I was dead in my sin

But now I rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
 I live

I will rise, I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him, now in Him
 I live
